A Rare Opportunity on Historic Hassell Creek - House with 5.99 acres
Some properties are measured in acres. Others are measured in memories, in moments, and in the places that have a way of staying with you. This 5.99-acre property along Hassell Creek offers the opportunity to become part of one of Middle Tennessee's truly special places—with more than 1,000 feet of frontage on the highly coveted Hassell Creek. And this property is very near the famous Tarkington Store on Hassell Creek!
Hassell Creek is not simply a beautiful waterway; it is a part of the history of this land. The creek takes its name from the Hassell family, who settled along its banks shortly after the signing of the Indian Treaties of 1805 and 1806. At the time, Thomas Jefferson was President of the United States and John Sevier was Governor of Tennessee. The treaties opened much of Middle Tennessee to settlement, and generations since have made their own memories along the approximately 15-mile course of Hassell Creek.
Today, this property offers the chance to create your own chapter along those same historic waters.
Set among the natural beauty of Hickman County, the property features a 1,728-square-foot, two-story log home that has been a work in progress. The home is ready for someone with vision to bring the project to completion. The structure provides a wonderful foundation for a distinctive Tennessee retreat, permanent residence, weekend getaway, or family gathering place.
But the true treasure here is the land and the creek.
With over 1,000 feet of Hassell Creek frontage, there is room to explore, relax, enjoy the water, or simply sit along the creek and listen to the sounds of nature. Imagine mornings with coffee overlooking the water, afternoons spent along the creek with family and friends, and evenings around a fire as the day fades away.
The log home may still need its finishing touches—but the setting cannot be recreated.
5.99 acres. Over 1,000 feet of Hassell Creek. More than 200 years of history. And the opportunity to create something that can become part of your family's history for generations to come.
If you've been waiting for that special piece of Middle Tennessee where the land, the water, and the history come together, you need to experience Hassell Creek for yourself.
We realize you will be anxious to go and view this amazing property; please be considerate of the owner. If you pull into the drive to view the land and see the creek, please do not approach the house. We will announce when we will be providing an Open House date and time for viewing the house (inside and out).

"Starts to Close at 6:00pm CST" - All online auctions have a posted date and time. The time provided should not be considered a HARD CLOSE. We do not employ a Hard Close; we use a Soft Close method of bidding countdown, for purposes of extended bidding.
Extended Bidding means the capability of the online auction platform to be programmed to extend the closing time of each lot automatically by a pre-determined time (by 2 minutes for instance) as long as there is still bidding activity until all bids have been placed. “Auto extend” has the same meaning as “extended bidding”. This process is seen quite often during online personal property auctions; we also employ this same process during online real estate auctions.
Why does Hudgins Auctions use “Extended Bidding”… Fairness to all bidders! Essentially, it is a built-in function that adds a time extension after a bid has been placed within the final two minutes of the countdown timer. This extended bidding feature is to ensure that the process is fair for all bidders. A similar process is used in live auctions, where bidding continues as long as participants choose to place additional bids. In our live auctions, we often give fair warning, count down, etc. to allow all bidders opportunity to bid. Should a bid be submitted during this “extended countdown”, the bidding always continues until a last and final bid is achieved. The online bidding format has been designed to emulate the live auction – Fairness to all bidders!
